Julia and I pulled up all the pepper plants this afternoon. They were scraggly and looked like something was nibbling on them. Spouse told me he saw an opossum running across the yard two nights in a row but forgot to tell me until I complained about my scraggly peppers. Tonight he saw the opossum again and ran him off. So that mystery is solved. I’m going to have to put in a low fence when I expand.
I went out with a flashlight to see what is nibbling the edges of the beans and I found a small green caterpillar with a black head. Internet search informs me it was a bean leaf roller. They like to feed at night. Hmmph. Sprayed with soapy water.
I found more of them in the day time.
