Here is a volunteer opportunity AND a thrifty bargain opportunity for the “green bookworms and recycling fans!” that I have a finger in somewhat… a “Green Elephant Benefit Booksale” so we can reduce, recycle and reread!
WHO IS DOING IT?
The oldest community service group based out of First Unitarian is called “The Alliance.” Members are people from the general Orlando community, active folks from other service groups, First Unitarian church members, University UUS members, and pen pals from afar!
It has been in existence since the 1920’s and still going strong today supporting local charities. Last school year the alliance kicked out a little over $20, 000 back into the local community!
First Unitarian Covenant Groups and Green Team are pitching in to help this effort too!
WHEN IS IT? WHO BENEFITS?
Proceeds benefit Howard Middle School Rennaisance Program, Health Care for the Homeless, Greater Orlando Food Outreach, Farmworkers Association and more!
The sale is at
First Unitarian Church of Orlando
1901 E. Robinson St.
Orlando, FL 32803
and will be on
- August 15: 8 AM – 8 PM
- August 16: 8 AM – 6 PM
VOLUNTEERS CAN HELP

Gorgeous green elephant postcards are in and ready for you to help take them out into the big, wide world!
Anyone willing and able is encouraged to click the picture for the larger version, print it out, and put it up on their grocery store or workplace bulletin board or your friends’ refrigerators etc. When you come to buy, bring a friend!
